SafeOffice 1.1
SafeOffice™ is a security program for Windows 2000/XP that provides protection as soon as the User logs on. SafeOffice™ runs in the background and can interact with the User through its icon in the system tray. As SafeOffice™ runs it enforces its security policy (which is configurable by the User) and prevents the User's data from being corrupted or disclosed by vulnerabilities in the following common internet applications:
- Microsoft Internet Explorer
- Netscape 6 (web browser and e-mail)
- Opera
- Microsoft Outlook Express
- Microsoft Outlook (2000 and 2002)
- Eudora
- AOL Instant Messenger
- Microsoft Windows Messenger
- Yahoo! Instant Messenger
As soon as any of the above internet applications are started by the User, SafeOffice™ detects the application start-up and then internally classifies that application as restricted. While that application is running, that application is only allowed to perform acceptable actions. An acceptable action is one that the program performs as part of its normal duties and which does not cause any undesirable results, such as the corruption of system files or the disclosure of personal data. So, when a restricted program attempts to perform an unacceptable action, SafeOffice™ does not allow the attempt to succeed, and neither the system files are corrupted nor is the personal data disclosed
