When you wish to shred all information currently stored or previously stored on a volume (e.g. when selling your computer you can shred each volume). This operation will first shred all files and folders and then shred the free disk space. To shred an entire volume, choose Shred Volumes that can be found under the Shred menu or by Control-clicking on the SafeShred icon in the dock.
