You can tell SafeShred to play a sound at the beginning and the end of shredding operation. This can be useful for notifying you that lengthy shredding operations have finished. To select the shredding sounds, open the Preferences window by choosing Preferences under the SafeShred menu.

To have SafeShred play a sound when beginning a shred, check the Play sound when beginning shred option and click the Choose Sound button to select a sound file. To have SafeShred play a sound when finishing a shred, check the Play sound when finishing shred option and click the Choose Sound button to select a sound file.

Note that SafeShred supports the following sound files formats: .aiff, .wav, and .snd.
